The Italian team of Poseidon Med project, led by La Spezia Port Authority and Contship Italia Group, organized on Monday the 26th October 2015, a Poseidon Med Consultation Meeting in La Spezia. The Conference took place in La Spezia at the Auditorium of the Port Authority presenting the results achieved by the project, from the regional perspectives of the partners and the stakeholders in relation with the overall project.
Poseidon Med Stakeholders Conference aimed to provide an update on the technical and financial aspects of the project and raise discussion among Shipping and Energy Industry stakeholders. A very interested audience, composed by expertise in LNG technologies and transportation, participated at the conference.
After a welcome introduction by the organizer, Ms. Federica Montaresi (in the behalf of Mr. Lorenzo Forcieri, the President of La Spezia Port Authority), works developed in two sessions. The first session was dedicated to Poseidon Med project perspectives, both in regional and European perspectives, with contributions by Ms. Federica Montaresi and Mr. Simone Pacciardi, talking respectively about the LNG port scenarios in La Spezia developed within Poseidon Med project and the methodology to estimate the LNG demand for bunkering by 2025. Mr. Nicolò Marrali (Contship Italia Group), explained LNG inland scenarios in the terminal of Melzo and future perspectives. Mr. Ioannis Bakas, the Project Manager of Poseidon Med project (QE EnergyEurope), illustrated the progress report of the overall project. Mr. Panayiotis Mitrou (Hellenic Lloyd’s), talked about Risk Assessment strategy for LNG bunkering as analyzed in Poseidon Med and Mr. Panayiotis Zacharioudaksis (OceanFinance), illustrated sustainable financing strategies for supporting LNG infrastructures.
The second session was dedicated to the Italian stakeholders of Poseidon Med Project, both on maritime and on inland supply chain, with contributions by Ms. Simona D’Angelosante (GNLITALIA Panigaglia), illustrating the facilities of the Panigaglia regasification plant in the Gulf of La Spezia. CF Mr. Antonio Bignone (Italian Navy), discussed about the future development plans in LNG technologies by the Italian Navy and the strict relationship with the Port of La Spezia. Mr. Luigi Grossi (Ligurian District for Marine Technologies), spoke about the potentiality of the Ligurian Sea and the research and development perspectives in technologies on maritime transport and, finally, Mr. Fabio Pellegrinelli (IVECO), explained the product offer about LNG trucks, economic and environmental benefits.
