On 8th December 2016 is being organized in Piraeus the Poseidon Med II Stakeholders’ Conference under the title “Poseidon Med II calls at Piraeus”.
The conference that will be hosted in the Piraeus Municipal Theatre aims to engage in a fruitful discussion experts from the field with specific focus on the societal & port aspects, the financial matters as well as the latest technological developments which are of vital importance to the maritime industry towards the LNG as fuel era.
Dr. Panayotis Zacharioudakis is going to moderate the conference’ s 2nd Session on Financial Aspects, that aims to address concerns and discuss solutions regarding the financial particularities of the adoption of LNG as marine fuel. Issues of environmental regulations and compliance, as well as financing the adoption and use of LNG, would be discussed through the point of view of different Shipowners. Experts of DG-Move and the European Investment Bank will discuss the available financing tools that EU and EIB provide to support green investments in shipping.
Poseidon Med II project is a practical roadmap which aims to bring about the wide adoption of LNG as a safe, environmentally efficient and viable alternative fuel for shipping and help the East Mediterranean marine transportation propel towards a low-carbon future.
