Mr. Charalampos Simantonis, President of the Hellenic Shortsea Shipping Association, stressed that “It is the first time that EU does not only enforce environmental laws, but also forms the funding mechanism for the renewal of the European shortsea shipping fleet, whose main features are the increased age, the outdated technology and the difficulty in funding access.”
