Greek shipowners operating about 1.300 ships in the Mediterranean are hard pressed to comply with carbon emissions regulations obliging ships in the region to use fuels with a Sulphur content below 0.5% from 2020. “For the first time, we have a tool that will support shipowners to make the transition to LNG” said Dr. Panayotis Zacharioudakis, Managing Director of OceanFinance.
